For this holiday, when considering the legend, it is said that St. Martin was so modest therefore he tried to avoid being ordained bishop so he was hiding in a goose pen, where he was betrayed by the cackling of the geese and found. St. Martin's goose was also the last meat before the six-week Advent fasting. Based on the taste of the newly produced wines of the year, the whole year's production was evaluated. And if everything went well, the contract was renewed for the next year. This is a reason for a celebration, isn't it! St. Martin's Day has a long tradition in our country. This day used to announce the end of the agricultural season and the beginning of the winter. After all, the weather lore says that St. Martin will arrive on a white horse, hence "bring" the first snow.
